Barista Responsibilities:
Providing first-class hospitality by welcoming customers, informing them of specials, answering questions, and ensuring happy checkouts
Sharing your passion and knowledge of our products and preparation methods
Grinding and blending coffee beans, and brewing coffees and teas
Preparing and serving various beverages and food items
Promoting brand loyalty programs and other incentives
Assisting in receiving and processing product shipment
Updating signage and displays
Cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking
Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls
Contributing to a safe, respectful, and upbeat environment
Honors and encourages others to follow TCU’s visions and values
Nice to Haves:
At least 1 year in the coffee service industry
At least 1 year in the customer service industry
Experience upselling and cross-selling products/services
Knowledge of the Savannah area/culture
Need to Haves:
Retail sales experience with a strong sense of stewardship
Exceptional verbal and nonverbal communication skills
Able to work well independently and as a team, including being willing to step outside of job role to assist the team
Desire to continue learning about food and beverage preparation
Enthusiasm is helping TCU achieve goals
Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure
Awareness of subtle customer cues and knowing how to respond appropriately
Basic computer competency and ability to read, write, and perform basic math
Experience operating cash registers, managing financial transactions, and balancing drawers
Availability to work 30-40 hours per week during peak times, nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to walk, bend, stand for extended periods, and lift 20-30 lbs regularly
